Candles, confetti, the quiet breath before a toast — celebrations compress whole lives into a few electric moments. From conferences, keynote speeches and award ceremonies to private gatherings and birthday parties, I photograph the rhythm of an event as it unfolds — the anticipation, the applause, the laughter and the connections in between.

I look for the small exchanges: a hand squeezed across a table, a speaker taking a steady breath before stepping on stage, a laugh that breaks through a conversation, the way someone watches another across the room. Working quietly and unobtrusively, I document both the structure of the occasion and the unscripted moments that give it its true character.

The images hold the feeling of the event — messy, joyful, tender and alive — so these moments can be returned to, not simply as a record of what happened, but as a reminder of how it felt to be there.
